First Presentation

Last night, we did the first presentation about our near future ministry. Actually, this was the reason that we launched our blog a few days ago, because our friends who hosted the event had invited their friends. We wanted to offer a way for them to find us back and be able to stay in contact. In today’s world an address on the World Wide Web is a fast—and on here free—way to create something and it can be accessed from any computer on the world.

The event included a silent auction of some of our belongings, which we can’t take with us on our flight to Peru. We can share that we borrowed the bigger car from our neighbors, which we needed for some of the bigger things and we came back with a few boxes. We thank the ones who bought and donated. It is a blessing to have a start like this.

Just before our presentation God spoke to me and made me realizing the following, also the way I started our presentation. Six years ago, I didn’t know anyone present in the room; Elizabett knew one of the persons present at that time. In January 2006 I met Elizabett, later I met her friend and last year we met Elizabett’s friend new friends who hosted the event yesterday. The rest of the ones present I met yesterday for the first time. Elizabett and I believe that God has a plan for our lives and this presentation was part of His plan. The people were not part of the event by accident; no, God had it planned that way. God has a plan for everyone; for us, for the ones who were present last night, and for you! Jesus prays in John 17:18, “In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world, I give them a mission in the world.” (The Message) And we believe that God has further plans for us in Peru, that’s why He gave us a heart for Peru. What a mighty God we serve!

We thank God for this opportunity to share about our desire to serve God wherever He sends us and at the moment we know that He has ministries prepared for us in Peru.

We ask you to pray for us as we both have our last finals this week; Elizabett has her three finals all on Wednesday and Kees has his finals all on Thursday.
